Lion’s Mane Tincture (Hericium Americanum)

We grow native lion’s mane–sometimes called “comb tooth”. This wonderful mushroom is often used interchangeably with the European variety (h. erinaceus). Our lion’s mane mushrooms are grown outdoors in the forest on sustainably harvested beech and poplar logs and harvested during natural seasonal flushes.

Description

2 fluid ounces. Fresh lion’s mane (hericium americana) mushroom fruiting body tinctured in 60% grain alcohol (weight to volume ratio 1:2). Comes in an amber glass bottle with graduated dropped cap. !topical use only!

While this mushroom is not considered endangered, we have some concerns. Lion’s Mane and other mushrooms have been rising in popularity in the recent years, resulting in a boom of expensive, low-quality, highly dilute, and sometimes downright fake products. Harvesting pressure from commercial foraging in both the herbal and culinary industries has made h. americanum a rarer sight; which is why we harvest from our outdoor log-cultivated population. This gives you the best of both worlds: All the benefits of wild-foraged mushrooms, but from a secure population that spreads spores to the rest of the forest!

Why topical use only? State and federal regulations require products for human consumption to be produced in a certified commercial kitchen. While we strive for the highest production standards, we do not maintain a commercial kitchen.
